Nick Diaz - West Coast Kicking Academy Hall of Fame

Colorado Ice
Utah State University
Redondo High School

What do you get when you mix a kid that is emotionally mature beyond his years, unwaveringly positive, the determination to prove he could compete with the best and a true team player.... Nick Diaz!

Of all the kickers we have trained, Nick stands out as the most solid in terms of character, motivation and mastering the mental side of the game.

When Utah State (My Alma Mater) needed a kicker in 2010, they reached out and asked who they could count on.  Without hesitation Diaz was the guy in that recruiting class.  After impressing the coaching staff with his ability on the field (90% touch backs his Senior season and a game winner in the playoffs) and solid technique, they were sold by his calm and positive demeanor.  Nick was offered a sholarship and started as the Kickoff specialist his freshman season.  After battling an injury in the off season before his Sophomore season, he became the Aggies full time place-kicker by connecting on a career long 53 yard FG.

Over the next 2 1/2 seasons Nick worked his way into the Aggies record book as the all-time leader in PAT's, 2nd in FG's (Bohn) and 3rd in scoring. He earned All-Mountain West accolades his Junior and Senior years and played in 4 bowl games, and was part of a class that played in 4 straight bowl games, where Nick holds the record for most career points.

Much of Nick's success can be attributed to his strong work ethic, visualization techniques off the field and ability to see the postive in all situations.  Nick was known as a Team Player, who the coaches praised for his off field contributions to team culture.
